Bruce Rutherfurd Cabinet Making is exactly what it sounds like: Bruce, a shed full of timber, and pieces made properly because his name is on them. Customers describe the same two things over and over, that the work is high quality and that he takes real care with it.
There is no showroom and no catalogue. You bring an idea, a photo or a set of measurements, you look at what is on the rack, and the piece gets built to suit the opening, the room and the timber you picked.

The work holds up
One review sums it up as "very high quality, he puts a great deal of care into his work". Solid timber, proper joins, and a finish that still looks right years later.
One-offs are the norm
Bespoke pieces are the everyday work here, not a special request. If you can describe it, there is usually a way to make it out of timber.
You get told straight
Advice on timber, movement and what a piece will actually cost, before anything is cut. One customer called this "A place full of knowledge and wisdom".
Small jobs are still jobs.
A stair tread that will not fit. A door that needs trimming. A slab that wants dressing. The shop has the machines for it, and a piece brought in over the counter gets the same attention as a full staircase.

Talk it through
Call in or send the details. Sizes, the opening, the room, and what you want the piece to do.
Pick the timber
Look over what is on the rack and choose the board. Grain, colour and how it will move all get talked about.
Machined and joined
Dressed, cut and put together in the shop, with the joins set out to suit the grain rather than the clock.
Finished and fitted
Sanded and finished by hand, then checked against the opening so it goes in the way it should.
